The moon is now in Cancer, which is likely to evoke the inner mother. If your tank is empty you’re likely to crave time at home cocooning and replenishing your energy levels with nostalgic films, meals and home comforts.
If you have been care-taking yourself you’re likely to feel the urge to nurture everyone from stray cats to telemarketers! Cancer moon reminds us of the strength and support we find in community. Community doesn’t have to be intentional, it fact it is usually comprised of the ramshackle bunch of folk we see on a regular basis because of the places we frequent out of necessity as well as those who share our values and interests. This is healthy as it keeps us in touch with the wider web – a crosssection of people from all walks of life whom we may not usually seek out as friends. Through regular interaction we learn more about the world beyond our inner circle and feel connected to something bigger, which addresses our primal need to belong. Being ousted from the group is one of the most painful human experiences we can have and one most common in junior high as everyone is so desperate to belong to a peer group they will sacrifice others to meet that need.
Maturity is the opposite, we understand how healing inclusion through connection is for everyone, so we delight in finding ways to connect with people who we may have dismissed when younger and more rigid in our social parameters.
So today send blessings to all the people who make up your community – maybe take it in turns to name them at the dinner table and say what you like about each one who comes to mind.
Blessings on your day,
Tanishka
