The moon is now in Cancer, the sign the moon rules…so if you’ve been feeling more moody and sensitive than usual, this lunar transit into Cancer is likely to prolong a sense of acute irritability.

So how best to deal with that?

Well, Cancer is the sign of the archetypal caretaker. So to thrive during a Cancer lunar transit we need to increase our self-care.

This can be a challenge for those with a lot of Capricorn in their charts or planets in the 10th house in their birth chart*, as Capricorn rules the 10th house. Why?

Capricorn is the opposite sign to Cancer. So if we have a lot of Capricorn we can tend to push ourselves hard to be responsible but in doing so, fail to take care of ourselves.

Similarly, those whose Mums modelled love as self-sacrifice can avoid basic self care as it feels like self-indulgence.

If this strikes a chord, remind yourself every day that self care is responsible and ensures we can continue to caretake those around us.

If taking an hour for yourself feels too much of a stretch, start with 5 mins to close your eyes & breathe deeply, breathing in gratitude for all the good in your life. This will calm your nervous system & help you to take in more of the good stuff being offered in your life.

After a week of taking 5 each day, build it up to 10 minutes.
