Are you being run by a control drama?
New Moon in Virgo urges us to discriminate, reflect and distil lessons learned so be sure to make some quality solo time for yourself to do that and you’ll enhance well being on all levels.
New moon in Virgo can evoke the shadow sign of Virgo – perfectionism in all of us, regardless of our sign. This is because Virgo scrutinizes to see what needs improvement. This is positive so long as we don’t overlook the inherent perfection in everything including the process!
The hyper-vigilant mind also express itself through control dramas; compulsive behaviours that are a subconscious effort to feel in control and therefore safe. So, this is an optimal time to notice what behaviours are your fall back? What do you daily…that help you feel less anxious?
Do you: Count calories and workout? Spend large amounts of time on social media / dating apps? Consume news and current events? Constantly clean and tidy? Work – even on weekends? Micromanage others?
Once you identify your compulsive behaviours, observe when you have the urge to do them what feeling is present in your body. If you feel anxious, ask yourself, ‘What am I really afraid of?’ By addressing the subconscious fears we incorporate the lesson of Pisces, the opposite sign so we don’t have to act out like a manic over-doer who can’t stop for fear of everything falling apart.
Virgo is the sign that governs health, habits and routines, so this is the ideal time to review our habits and routines and the motivations behind them. Habits underpin the quality of our lives and indicate how healed or unhealed our psyche is. The more fragmented our psyche, the more we reach for quick fixes to ‘keep ourselves together’, such as smoking a cigarette, joint, bong or pouring a drink to calm our emotional state when we feel volatile and reactive.
The more we heal, the more we trust the process of life and our behaviours become more conscious…motivated by love rather than unconsciously motivated by fear. In other words, we consciously move towards what we do want instead of running away from what we don’t want with compensatory patterns of behaviour.
The key is to identify what we fear and why. Such as fear of being rejected, violated, judged or not surviving. Then we can address the core fear directly. If we don’t our compulsive behaviours rule us, creating an increasing cycle of fear and dependence on our coping mechanisms.
Virgo transits help us to put in place strategies that directly address our human needs, helping us transcend our dependencies that undermine our personal power and reinforce our fears.
